Remind Me Who I Am

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! – 2 Corinthians 5:17 (NIV)

Do you need to be reminded of who you are? Many may attempt to keep you burdened down with labels based on characteristics from your past. Don’t fall for it…this is one of the oldest tricks in the book. Even Jesus himself experienced this when He started His ministry. People attempted to keep Him bound to the confines of where He came from.

Please understand that those who constantly remind you of who you were may be doing it out of fear. When you start living in the fullness of who you are and who you are prone to become in Christ it poses a threat. As you begin to make improvements, it then puts the spotlight on them to analyze their actions and make a decision if they themselves will change or remain the same.

Today I would like to remind you that you are no longer the sum total of your past characteristics. You may have brief moments of digression…that’s just part of being human. A key factor is not to encamp there but to confess it, make an about face turn and to resume living according to the newness that Christ has birthed within you.

Lord, help me to not fall prey to satan’s oldest trick in the book of working through people in attempts to hold me in bondage to my past. Help me to live out in fullness the new characteristics that I now possess since I dedicated my life to You.

Thanks Sis! I do need to be reminded of who I am. Thank you Jesus that I have such a precious sister who always has a word from you, when I am too weak to call out to you on my own. She stands in the gap for me! I am sooooo blessed!
