Wait for the Lord; Be strong and let your heart take courage; Yes, wait for the Lord. – Psalm 27:14 (NASB)
Are you waiting on God to answer a prayer request? Are you wondering why He is taking so long to make it happen? Many times the thing that we want so badly becomes so big in our minds that it blocks our view of all of the other good present in our lives.
One thing we can be certain of, based on Matthew 7:11, is that God does not withhold good gifts from His children. Also, He does not find it entertaining to watch us plead for the same thing over and over again. Nevertheless, when we have a need in our lives it typically draws us closer to God which is where we should remain.
There are a couple of things that cause a delay in God’s response time. Daniel 10:12-14 reveals that a battle in the spiritual realm over the issue can cause a delay. Also, the people involved may not be completely ready to receive what has been requested. Thus, receiving the right thing at the wrong time can prove to be detrimental. With that being said, don’t attempt to demand your way. God’s way…in His timing is always perfect.
Lord, I thank You for the waiting periods in life. I trust that they are very purposeful…You are never too early or never too late, but right on time.
