What is God calling you to do? Are you ignoring the calling in hopes that He will take the spotlight off of you and move on to someone else? Perhaps the path that God is attempting to take you down defies all logical reasoning. Perhaps you are concerned about how it will affect your future.
You may be in the process of working very hard to ensure that you are heavily padded with financial security in order to be prepared for retirement. Would God really call someone to interrupt the building of his or her personal empire? Would God really call someone to shift the focus off of ensuring his or her security for the here and now in order to take part in ensuring the eternal destiny of others?
In actuality, God does call us to step out of the boat, away from the security and sturdiness of our well-constructed hull, into unchartered waters where it requires that we put our complete trust in His ability to adequately provide for our future. As you are about God’s business, you can be certain that He will be about your business. No future is more secure than that of the life that is fully surrendered to Him in service.
Lord, I am so grateful for bible verses such as Jeremiah 29:11. As I step out of the safety and security of the boat and make deposits into the things that are near and dear to Your heart, I take comfort in the fact that my future is safe and secure.
