Do you take a power nap to refresh yourself when you know that you will have a long day ahead of you? As many of us wear several hats, so to speak, we typically want to give our very best every time we transition into a different role. Unless we take time out to recharge our body, it won’t be very long before we feel depleted and that feeling will more than likely show up in our actions. Nevertheless, a power nap is said to boost your memory, cognitive skills, creativity, and energy level.
Similar to taking a power nap to recharge our bodies, there is a measure we can take to recharge our spirits as well. We have the ability to create a safe zone in our minds whereas, we usher out thoughts about everything and everyone until only the Lord remains. Unlike our lack of ability to control many of the things that take place around us, we are afforded the opportunity to exercise control over what takes place within the confines of our minds.
Perhaps you have been going through one struggle after another and you don’t see a light at the end of the tunnel. Using your mind as a place of retreat to allow the Lord to love on you, suture your emotional wounds and recharge you will aid you to go back out there and not only survive but thrive, despite your struggles. As the Lord helps you to shift your perspective about what you are going through, it will not only help you to endure for the long haul but it will serve as an awesome testimony that the God you serve is bigger than any struggle that you could ever encounter.
Lord, I thank You for creating a space in me whereas, I can retreat from the rest of the world, get recharged by You and approach my circumstances from a fresh new perspective. Help me to continue to protect my safe zone from unwarranted intruders.
