After Job had prayed for his friends, the Lord restored his fortunes and gave him twice as much as he had before. – Job 42:10 (NIV)
Have you been preoccupied with trying to recover what you have lost? Perhaps the loss is attached to a person or a group of people. You gaze may be fixed on that person(s) as you await for things to be made right. You may be at a point whereas, not only is your gaze fixed on that person(s) but your thoughts and actions are also consumed by recovering what has been lost.
If you are caught up in this trap, it may be time for you to give credit where credit is due. As your gaze may be fixed toward the south (previous employer, ex-spouse, the government, a lost pension plan, etc.), if you will transfer your trust to the only reliable and consistent source, it will dispatch God to provide for you as He has always intended.
The most crucial things to keep before us is that God is our ultimate source, everything and everyone else are merely resources. He is the holder of the key of the storehouse of blessings. Hence, He may choose to deliver the blessings through someone but He is the owner of all the riches. As you shift your focus from the “south”, He will bring in things from the north, south, east and west and not only restore what has been lost but compound upon that.
Lord, thank You for reminding me that people and things were never meant to be my source. As I renew my trust in You as my ultimate source, You will bring forth everything that I need and more.
