“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland. – Isaiah 43:18-19 (NIV)
Are you getting frustrated because things are not progressing along according to your expectations? Perhaps you have told God over and over again how you think a situation in your life should be unfolding but it seems to be falling on deaf ears. Perhaps your biggest frustration is centered on God’s seemingly infinite inactivity in the situation, despite the fact that He has an infinite ability to grant your request.
As we sense God’s inactivity, one thing we must do is to draw near to Him in prayer. Many times we are busy trying to resurrect a situation and we don’t feel God’s presence because He has exited the building. We are hunched over in the corner with a downcast demeanor desperately trying to perform CPR on something that has been dead at the root for quite some time, all the while God has been watering a whole new tract of property for us.
Nevertheless, you may have even heard His voice calling You to come away from where you are at present but fear of the unknown has held you hostage and prevented you from moving forward. Perhaps it is time to take God at His Word and join Him in the lush pasture that He has been watering just for you.
Lord, thank You for helping me to realize that my thought about You being missing in action is the furthest thing from the truth. Thank You for Your Word that reminds me that if I draw near to You, You will draw near to me. Lord, I am extending my hand to you and turning away from that which is dead so that You can lead me to the area that You have been cultivating all along.
