Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. – Galatians 6:9 (NIV)
Are you tired and bored with the ordinary? Perhaps you do the same thing day after day and it tends to yield the same results. You may have gotten to a point whereas, you have been doing this for so long that you can perform the task with your eyes closed. The things that used to evoke excitement no longer does so. Perhaps your surroundings have become so familiar to the point that the scenery has appears to be dull and faded.
Many of us are on the verge of a breakthrough but as we fail to see results on our timetable, we abort the mission prematurely. As we do this, one thing that we fail to realize is that many extraordinary instances resulted from the compilation of numerous ordinary occurrences. God requires man to persistently and consistently put one foot in front of the other, day after day, in obedience and allow Him to be in charge of the results.
Nevertheless, our lives do not have to be lifeless and void of color and character. One day in the not so distant future, God’s “extra” will intersect with our repetitive ordinary actions. As we surrender “our ordinary” into the Lord’s hands, He will restore it to life, decorate it as an ornate robe and prompt it to yield extraordinary results.
Lord, thank You for performing the extraordinary in Your timetable as I yield my ordinary acts of service to You.
