For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. – Ephesians 2:10 (NIV)
Are you trying to figure out your purpose in this life? You may have had a perfectly clear vision of your calling in days gone by. Perhaps you are going through a season that appears to be mundane and you are just merely going through the motions. It may even seem as though the lights have been turned off and you are fumbling your way around in the dark.
Since things are stagnant, you may even feel that God is no longer in need of your giftedness. Perhaps you think that He has resorted to using someone who is better looking, younger or more knowledgeable. Perhaps opportunities have brushed up against you and you’ve exclaimed, pick me! Even still, the opportunity has bypassed you and was given to someone far less enthusiastic.
Take heart, your season may have changed but your God-given calling has not. Every cell in your body has been coded in a manner that equips you to carry out the assignment for which you were created. Your talent is not being wasted. It may very well be a scenario whereas God has you in an incubation period and is preparing you for the next phase of your assignment.
Lord, during this mundane season whereas, it feels as though my gifts are not needed any longer, help me to breathe deeply, rest and get ready for an adventure of a lifetime as I yield myself in service to you for the next phase of my journey.
