Trust in the Lord with all your heart And do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He will make your paths straight. — Proverbs 3:5-6 (NASB)
Do you feel that God is calling You to make a shift in your current path? Perhaps you have resolved to walk in obedience but others seem to be serving as a barrier blocking your path. The day may even be drawing near when a shift needs to take place and you’re feeling pressed on all sides. Perhaps your focal point has shifted away from walking in obedience and onto assessing how to remove the obstacle.
The truth of the matter is that any time we have a decision to make it always has an impact on more people than merely the individual making the decision. Just as we are all God’s creation, we are all interconnected therefore, whether positive or negative, our decisions create a ripple effect.
Nevertheless, despite the fact that our decisions have an impact on others, we must come to a place where we follow God’s promptings in obedience, not if or when the resistance subsides, but at all times. We must trust that the same God who has so delicately woven together the person who serving as the source of resistance, knows His created being well enough to discern exactly what it will take to disarm their resistance and is powerful enough to do so.
Lord, thank You that I am simply called to walk in obedience. Thank You for being more than equipped to line others up according to Your will.
