Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. – Hebrews 11:1 (NIV)
Do you feel as though you’re in a perpetual holding pattern at this time in life? Perhaps God has placed a promise in your heart but when you peer into the reality of your situation, everything is quite the contrary. Perhaps the things that have offered a sense of security and peace of mind in the past are no longer offering stability. Even still, everything around you looks like utter chaos and you reason that it will take a divine intervention to turn things around.
As we look to God’s Word, truth be told, people and things were never meant to produce a sense of security. Although God may use people and things as instruments to deliver stability and security, He is the Ultimate Source. Many times He allows things around us to be shaken and uses it as a weeding process to show us, one by one, the things that can’t be trusted as our source, so that we will readjust our faith and hope on the one and only True Source.
Nevertheless, the enemy hopes that the chaos around you will produce doubt and defeat but God uses the uncertain times to get us to lean in closer, listen intently and rise up from the rubble in victory. As you’re firmly anchored by faith in God’s promise, hope will keep you afloat during the transition period as you’re persevering until the promise becomes a reality. Hope sees through the invisible, looks beyond the perceived intangible and achieves the impossible.
Lord, thanks for tucking a promise deep within my heart and providing hope which keeps me afloat and transforms my “hope so” into my “know so” as I live out the “dash” until the promise comes to pass.
